Out of the Mouths: “About to turn five”

On the way home from a birthday party tonight, Colin was anxious to take off his wristband.

Colin: “Mommy, when we get home can I use the scissors and cut this off all by myself?”

Me (laughing): “No, Buddy. I think I better help you.”

Colin: “Mommy, it’s not funny. I’m FOUR – about to turn FIVE – and I can do it on my own. I’m serious.”
