Out of the Mouths: “Are you thinking what I’m thinking?”

The other night Noah looked at me and said, “Mommy, are you thinking what I’m thinking?”

I said, “I don’t know, Noah. What are you thinking?”

He said, “I’m thinking about my Bakugans.”

I said, “Well, then, no. I am not thinking what you are thinking.”

(That’s a handy-dandy link up there to a picture of a Bakugan toy for those of you who do not have children obsessed with these little balls of plastic.)

  1. Ha! I can so relate. Even when my kids are talking out loud, I’m still not thinking what they are thinking! Video games, physics engines and airsoft guns. All I hear is blah blah blah!

  2. Funny! Ava has started using that phrase too, but it is sort of at inappropriate times. She’ll just walk into the room and say, “Are you thinking what I’m thinking?” Since we have no shared exerience with each other at that point, chances are slim that we are thinking the same thing! I don’t know where she heard that phrase since Ash and I don’t really say that to each other. Kids are strange, so who knows? 🙂
